Colors inspire us in many ways. On cold days and nights, wearing or being surrounded by warm colors makes us feel warmer. Warm colors include red, yellow, orange, and brown. Discover more about how to warm up your interior and yourself with vibrant colors in this interior designer’s article.
Heat Yourself and Your Interior with Fiery Red

Love, passion, happiness, creativity, and warmth are all associated with the color red. This fiery hue is an essential ingredient of festivities worldwide. We decorate our holiday homes with ornaments in red and wear clothes in this color to warm us up during cold days and nights.
In Feng Shui, stronger colors, or more “yang,” require smaller quantities to be effective. Bright-red color is very “yang” and is associated with the energy of fire and chi energy of the west. This vibrant color is a great choice to warm up your interior.
In chromotherapy, i.e., treatment with colors, it is considered that red hue raises the adrenaline level and body temperature. Clothing details in this color (underwear, socks, shirts, scarves, hats, and gloves) are recommended, especially during the cold winter months, and also when you need a boost of energy.

Warm Up Your Interior with Sunny Yellow

Just as the rays of sunshine bring warmth into the world and give everything a more optimistic appearance, the color yellow creates warmer and more cheerful indoor design and decor. The warmth and light of this sunny hue is a wonderful choice for decorating rooms with no natural light, such as lobbies and corridors, with pastel-yellow walls that paint the brightness of a sunny day.
In the monochromatic (one-colored) scheme, it is lovely to see a vibrant mixture of tints, tones, and shades of yellow, from gold and caramel to lemon and flower tints, tones, and shades.
Combining yellow with white (for small spaces) or yellow with brown (for large spaces) creates a cheerful atmosphere in the bedroom and living room.
The duo of red and yellow creates an artistic fire, designing very dynamic rooms.
In Oriental philosophy, Feng Shui, yellow brings harmony in every direction of the movement of energy. The vivid tints of this sunny color are more yang and create active interiors, so they are more often applied to small surfaces. The pale yellow tones are more yin, i.e., passive, so we can paint all the walls and large surfaces in these tones, even in the bedrooms and other spaces where relaxation is the main function.
