The world of colors is imaginative and always interesting, just like the colors themselves. The numerous color combinations inspire the artist in all of us and reveal the colors of our character. In this article, discover how to choose the best kitchen colors according to the selected decorative style.
Kitchen Colors by Decorative Style
The color you choose to enhance your kitchen or dining room depends, among other things, on your selected decorating style. Each decorative style is represented by a specific color palette.

The Modernist Style suggests cool neutrals such as white, gray, and black, and Op Art has a similar approach, preferring a ‘black and white world’. In contrast, Pop Art and the Postmodernist Style bring the joy of bright colors to the kitchen interior.

Designing a kitchen space in one of the Classic Styles means applying mostly darker and warmer colors, except, for instance, Rococo (18th century), during which interiors were lighter, and one of the favorite color combinations was white and gold. In a dining room or kitchen designed in the Shabby Elegance Style, the furniture is most often painted white, and decorative accessories such as curtains and tablecloths are bursting with floral motifs in pastel tones. Kitchens in Cottage Style have a rustic look with wooden furniture and a soft color palette of neutrals, pastels, and earthy tones.

The Global Style features earthy colors ranging from orange to dark brown, enhanced by vibrant shades of green, blue, and yellow. The relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere is adorned with white, blue, green, and brown-red.

The exoticism of Oriental interior design is enriched by saffron-yellow, jade-green, cinnamon, paprika, bright red, gold, orange, and black tones.

Enjoy coloring your kitchen. Greetings from Danica, a color lover! 🙂
