From November 23rd to 25th, 2023, the famous Croatian travel destination – Rovinj will become the center of creativity, innovation, and networking in the sector of indoor and outdoor design for hospitality, public, and residential spaces. In the old tobacco factory, Design District Rovinj, an international trade fair for furniture and interior and exterior design, presents more than 95 renowned brands this year. This innovative event makes a connection between the travel sector and the world of architecture and design by bringing creative ideas, trending products, and inspirational stories about sustainability.  

Since 2018, this trade fair has been a unique event for investors, architects, interior designers, and owners of hotels, holiday apartments, and villas, as well as other tourist facilities, as it provides all the necessary information on emerging travel and design trends, current offers, and acceptable prices in one place, thus facilitating preparation for upcoming tourist season.

Traditionally, the best-decorated exhibition spaces and the best products are selected according to the criteria of aesthetics, functionality, and design.

The conference “Sustainable Aesthetics and Functionality: Architecture and Interior Design in the Light of the Green Deal” will take place on the 23. and 24. November, as part of the Design District 2023 trade fair in Rovinj, Croatia.

Design District Rovinj is a well-known educational platform, bringing lectures, workshops, and presentations for years, as well as networking opportunities for professionals from the various areas of design, architecture, construction, furnishing, and hospitality.

Designing in a Go-Green Way

This edition of the traditional gathering of architects and interior designers in Rovinj – reveals how to create in a go-green way, and brings reflections of the European Green Deal on architecture and inspirations for green perspectives in interior design.

The mission of this year’s Conference is to explore key topics such as the circular economy in architecture and interior design, climate-neutral urbanization, and the role of designers and architects in sustainable construction and furnishing.

Very interesting lecturers and speakers, among whom are the most renowned Croatian and regional architects and interior designers, will talk about their experiences of successfully implementing circular economy principles such as modular design, recycling, reuse of materials, architectural innovations, and efficient solutions.

In two fulfilling and inspiring days, the Conference will focus on the settings of the European Green Plan (Green Deal), materials, and digitization – all in the context of global design and new practices in architecture and interior design. Design District Rovinj answers the questions of whether it is possible to achieve sustainability without borders through architecture and interior design using new values: energy independence, economic profitability, and environmental protection.

Architects and interior designers who attend the conference “Sustainable Aesthetics and Functionality: Architecture and Interior Design in the Light of the Green Deal”, through previously mentioned green topics and excellent lecturers will gain knowledge about sustainable architecture, design, and decor. In the professional development program, the Conference is evaluated with eleven (11) hours for the following areas: area C / Construction, Sustainable Construction and Context – 6 hours, area D / Constructions and Technologies – 3 hours, and area E / Management – 2 hours.
