Another international recognition for the Croatian furniture manufacturer Sobočan. THE PERFORMER, one of the movo office furniture models, was selected among the four finalists of this year’s DesignEuropa Awards in the industrial design category. Read on to find out more.
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) awards this valuable prize every two years. This year, 700 applications and nominations from 43 countries competed for the award, while movo is the only Croatian representative in exceptional competition. In the explanation of the decision on the finalists, it is stated that they set new standards in industrial design while respecting the principles of sustainability.
“Getting into the finals of the DesignEuropa award is an exceptional achievement because it comes directly from the European Union. movo has been recognized as an example of top industrial design, which is a recognition not only for Sobočan design studio but also for Croatian design as a whole”, said Anamaria Burazin Eškinja, manager of Sobočan design studio.
Awarded Office Furniture Collection
The innovative office furniture collection movo, developed in the Sobočan design studio, is recognized in the European market, where it is positioned in the premium segment of office furniture, as confirmed by the prestigious international awards for design and innovation won so far; German Innovation Award 2021, Iconic Awards – Innovative Interior 2021, BIGSEE Wood Design Award 2021 and A’Design Award 2022.

movo Office Furniture – Six Different Models
movo is available in six different models, all characterized by a modern and innovative design and functional performance. They take up minimal space, with a very simple assembly of space for work and mobility. In addition to the functionality they provide, they are designed in such a way that they can be easily transformed into a modern design element after use.

movo Model THE PERFORMER – Reminiscent of a “Swiss Army Knife”
movo model THE PERFORMER, nominated for the prestigious DesignEuropa award, is the most compact model in the entire collection, with a height of only 81 cm. But regardless of that fact, it fully meets all the basic conditions for work. Its concept is reminiscent of a “Swiss army knife”, where each of its surfaces can be unfolded into a specific function – such as a work surface, a drawer, a cabinet for binders, a compartment for pens, and a compartment for housing electrical connections.
Its basic structure consists of a metal frame inside which various storage units are organized. The outside is covered with white chipboard, which softens the angular shape of the element with its rounded corners and makes it more pleasant to handle. The entire element has a very modern and discreet design, and the wooden decor inside the element gives it additional character.
