Recently, I went for a sightseeing walk with friends along the sunny Lungomare coastal promenade that brought us to Opatija. Among the first sights that welcomed us to this top travel destination is a symbol of Opatija in the form of a statue of the Girl with the Seagull (also in the cover photo).
The Girl with the Seagull is the most famous statue in Opatija. This work of art by the sculptor Car was erected here in the year 1956 and became one of the symbols of this artistic town and one of the most photographed travel attractions. So, when visiting Opatija, take a picture with this beautiful statue and create your personalized postcard. In the time of Advent, this picture-perfect scene is ornamented by stars, baubles, and bows in traditional holiday colors of decorations.
