Welcome autumn, a picturesque season that gifts us with artistic landscapes, leaves in vibrant colors of a warm color palette, and delicious fruits of Nature that attract us with their colors, aromas, and flavors. During this beautiful time of year, the woods are wearing vibrant tints, tones, and shades of red, orange, yellow, gold, and green – thus inspiring us to do the same. Therefore, we wear autumn colors and decorate our homes with them. Also, we enjoy the colors and scents of autumn fruits and vegetables that invite us to the kitchen and dining room.

If you are choosing colors for tablecloths, table runners, and tableware – try red, green, and white.

When you imagine the orange color in the autumn time of year, what comes to your mind? My guess is – pumpkins, mandarins, oranges, carrots, and melons. Pumpkin soups, pumpkin pies, and drinks spiced with pumpkin spice (also known as pumpkin pie spice – a flavorsome blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, and allspice). Pumpkin is definitely among the key ingredients of autumn food, as well as decorating schemes.

Actually, all of these orange fruits and vegetables are an inspiration to both designers and food lovers, in more ways than one. Mandarins, oranges, and melons will refresh your day with their juices and essential oils. Carrots – whether I drink the carrot juice or prepare them boiled or steamed (with added salt, a mixture of spices, and olive oil), these root vegetables are delicious.

Pears, lemons, grapefruits, grapes, and sunflowers bring this sunny color into your home. Speaking from a designer’s point of view – arrange them as a table centerpiece for your dining room or kitchen table. For instance, place them in a transparent glass bowl on top of a green tablecloth or table runner (for a more relaxed décor) or a red tablecloth or table runner (for a more dynamic décor). Also, yellow, white, and blue combination for a sunny and bright day vibe (like the décor in the photo below).
