Do you daydream of someone bringing you breakfast in bed as a weekend surprise, or are you creating a romantic surprise for your ‘significant other’? Or, would you enjoy taking a relaxing personal moment to start the day with a cup of great coffee or tea – in bed? If the answer is YES – in this article, you will find four key decor recommendations to make your breakfast in bed look stunning. Archi-living.com and What a Host wish you a relaxing weekend and a stylish breakfast in bed! 🙂
Having a nutritious and delicious breakfast prepares us for the day. Combining healthy food with the stylish presentation of that breakfast has the power to influence our mood and make us more productive! Yes, believe it or not, the home environment, especially now that we spend much more time at home than before, has a really big impact on our daily routine.
Creating a Pinterest-style breakfast in bed is often easier than we think. Our design team suggests a few essentials for this stylish weekend event (or reshuffle what you already have in your kitchen).
- A Design Base – Serving Tray or Serving Plate
- Set of Mugs and Saucers
- Napkins – Materials, Colors, Stylish Presentation
- Decorative Details – ‘Icing on the Cake’ of This Designer Breakfast in Bed
A Design Base – Serving Tray or Serving Plate
An excellent presentation begins with a design base – to be able to move the breakfast – either to bed or to any part of your house. You can use any serving tray or serving plate that you might already have in your house (if you wish to give it a make-over, you can always paint it).
On the other hand, you might decide to invest in one that you can later also use as a centerpiece for your dining table, combined with flower vases. What a Host brand recommends that everything one buys for home decoration has to be able to adapt to different contexts and environments. What measures are recommended for the serving tray? At least 40 x 25 cm to be able to place two cups. Breakfast tastes better when accompanied. 😉
Set of Mugs and Saucers
If you don’t have it already in your home, you’ll need at least one set of mugs for two people, matching color(s) and size(s), with their saucer plates. If it is your first purchase, we recommend investing in neutral-colored pieces – so they are easy to reuse. You can choose the ones made of either ceramic or porcelain, always bearing in mind that they need to be dishwasher and microwave safe (if you cannot find it in the product description, just send a quick message to the seller).
Napkins – Materials, Colors, Stylish Presentation
Cloth napkins are a welcome addition to presenting breakfast well. You may have them at home, so this is the time to show them off. To give them a more relaxed and trendy touch, you can tie them in a knot and present them over the saucer plate. If you don’t have them at home but are thinking of investing in table textiles – for your first purchase, we recommend you opt for white napkins.
Fact: the trendiest these days and the ones you might have seen on Pinterest are the cotton gauze napkins that have a rustic style and that, in addition, do not require special care for washing.
Tip: wash your table textiles at 40º and on a gentle wash.

For this presentation to be perfect, do not forget to add decorative details. Surely you have at least one of these items in your house: natural flowers, dried flowers, candles, the super trendy wooden garlands, a book with a nice portrait, or a cozy blanket to put on the side. This is the time to let your creativity fly and look for what you have at home.
Now it is time to unleash your inner interior designer and prepare the best version of your breakfast in bed!
