Colors form an essential part of the visual identity of every product, a piece of furniture, indoor and outdoor space, company and brand, and even person – especially when it comes to creating a personal brand; so designers, marketing communications and branding professionals and all kinds of media involved in creating and branding the colorful world of interior design, study colors with great care to indicate which of them will be trending at different times, for example, yearly or during one or more seasons of the year.

These color and design trend forecasts are set once or twice a year and are most noticeable through individual pieces of furniture as well as the entire ambiance exhibited at influential world furnishing and home décor trade shows. To illustrate these color trends and ideas, here are the photos that I took during the Salone del Mobile.Milano – International Furniture Fair that takes place every year in Milan, Italy.

The soothing and elegant primary hue – blue has been selected by Pantone as this year’s Color of the Year. “Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.” Pantone, announcing the Color of the Year 2020 – Classic Blue

Relaxing and refreshing, the green hue is also at the top of trending colors for home décor, as well as for hospitality and office decorating. This secondary color brings natural freshness to the interior in various tints, tones, and shades.

In creating a colorful interior and exterior design – blue and green are joined by red, yellow, orange, purple, pink, and the neutral tone palette.
