Green is the color of Nature, of love, of relaxation, of sustainability, of growth. Although I have already written many articles on green, this wonderful hue always inspires new topics. On this occasion, I am featuring 7 beautiful European destinations I visited in 2025 and 2026, and their greenery. Discover Hvar Island, Opatija, Trakošćan Castle, Miramare Castle, Budapest, Ljubljana, Rastoke in Slunj, and Slovin Unique Estate in Rastoke. 🙂
Hvar Island

My green story about 7 beautiful European destinations starts with lovely Hvar. Enjoy the colorful sights of picturesque natural landscapes throughout the Hvar Island – olive groves, vineyards, lavender fields, pine woods, beaches… The refreshing greenery of this sunny Dalmatian island is an inspiration to designers and writers alike. Discover the stories of charming historic towns and villages and explore Dalmatian traditions. Milna, Malo Grablje, Velo Grablje, Brusje, and Hvar are some of the places you’ll explore on Hvar Island, Croatia.

Miramare Castle

Elegant Miramare Castle is the first gem you’ll discover while travelling towards Trieste, along the sightseeing coastal road. A lush historical park, covering almost 22 hectares and featuring a wealth of botanical species and monumental trees, surrounds this well-known Italian castle.
Trakošćan Castle

Historic Trakošćan Castle, in northwestern Croatia, stands on a hill above the picturesque lake of the same name, surrounded by a lush park. The uphill path through the park takes you on a refreshing walk to the stylish castle. I enjoyed the walk around the lake and up to the castle, followed by a detailed exploration of the furniture and decor.

Budapest

Every time I visit Budapest, I discover more and more cultural sights, architectural gems, and fun activities. On this occasion, I marveled at the greenery of the charming Hungarian capital. Some of the wonderful landmarks in the photos: the Museum of Ethnography, the House of Music Hungary, the Ferris Wheel of Budapest, the Liberty Bridge, and the Fisherman’s Bastion.
Ljubljana

Lovely Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, is also known as the green capital of a green country. This beautiful city is abundant with parks and natural landscapes. I started my visit by enjoying the greenery of Tivoli Park. In the photos I took, you can see some of the wonderful sights of Ljubljana’s largest park. Naturally, afterwards, I walked to the famous Dragon Bridge and posed next to one of the iconic dragon statues.
