See the Winter Beauty of Kranjska Gora, Slovenia

Recently, I had the pleasure of going on a press trip to Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. To introduce the journey, I created a photo story (and a video for social media) featuring the lovely winter scenery in this famous Slovenian travel destination. Discover more.

The Upper Sava Valley – the Beauty of Nature

The Upper Sava Valley, one of the most wonderful Alpine valleys, is located in the northwestern part of Slovenia, next to the tri-border with Austria and Italy. Here, in this natural beauty, you can enjoy views of lush forests of coniferous trees, larches, and mountain pines. Among the wildlife, chamois, deer, rabbits, ducks (among many others) call this place home.

As one of the largest settlements in the Upper Sava Valley, Kranjska Gora is a cosmopolitan Alpine small town at the foot of the Julian Alps, only a few kilometers from Italy and Austria. This world-famous ski center is located at about 800 m above sea level.

Lake Jasna – Top Tourist Attraction in Kranjska Gora

Lake Jasna is one of Slovenia’s best-known lakes and among the top tourist attractions in Kranjska Gora. This charming, crystal-clear lake consists of two interconnected artificial lakes at the confluence of the Velika and Mala Pišnica streams. Lake Jasna is surrounded by mountains, offering amazing views of the peaks around the lake. Picturesque wooden architecture, artworks, and holiday decorations add to the charm of this Slovenian mountain destination.

A bronze statue of a chamois and a wooden watermill are among the picture-perfect landmarks by Lake Jasna. The bronze statue standing on a stone represents Zlatorog (the Goldenhorn), the mythical chamois with golden horns of Mt. Triglav. The small rustic watermill reminds us of traditional wooden architecture.

With such great views, I was very inspired to take photos, surrounded by the snowy landscape and adorable animals. As a design & travel content creator, I am always on the lookout for beautiful landscapes around the world to tell stories about them.
