Studio Kauch, a Croatian manufacturer of custom upholstered furniture, where gatherings of designers and home decor manufacturers are already becoming a practice, hosted Stipe Brničević. Stipe is a civil engineer, and at 55, he found a way to free his playful spirit from the strict rules of the profession. Construction has always been his love, and he also decided to design lamps.
Lighting Brand Created from the Wish to Gift Friends Something Special
Wanting to give his friends something special and weave a part of himself into that gift, he remembered the laminating technique his architect friend Danira Matošić had taught him and made his first lamp.
Looking back, Stipe smiles and says he was surprised by the final result and certainly by the compliments that became more numerous with each new lamp.
At the urging of Ivona Tomić, a friend and civil engineer working in interior design under the name Studio.21, Stipe launched the Lustralux brand.
Currently, table and floor lamps with metal bases are available, but with each new lamp, Stipe gains new ideas. He also plans to introduce wooden stands, metal stands with multiple heads, and hangers. After finding paper that meets his desired weight and quality, as well as the right color and protective coatings, he begins testing the pattern. Among his favorite designs is the lamp made of sheet music that he created for a conductor friend.
With a pleasant gathering over Dalmatian sweet delicacies and liqueurs, Stipe showed that he thinks about every detail and loves handmade and homemade products.
