LARTE – a Place for Food, Wine and Italian Design

A place for conviviality, expression of culture and lifestyle, inspired by Fondazione Altagamma. Zanotta is one of the suppliers of excellence.

A Restaurant, a Coffee & Chocolate Shop, a Wine Bar

The challenge is making the best of food and wine coexist with Italian arts, design, and fashion at the best, in a contemporary high-end context and open to the world. That is LARTE and much more. A restaurant, a coffee & chocolate shop, a wine bar, a window of tastes, scents, sounds, and objects that communicate the Italian way of life.

The concept is born in Milan, the cradle of fashion and design but is open to an international audience of opinion makers, creative people, entrepreneurs, and people traveling with curiosity and good taste. The address is strategic: 5 Manzoni street, at the historic building that was the home of the great poet Carlo Emilio Gadda. Just a short track to Teatro alla Scala, Museum Poldi Pezzoli and the Gallerie d’Italia, a few minutes walk from Manzoni’ home, from Palazzo Marino and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II°. Brera district, the fashion district, and the streets of design showrooms mark the boundaries.

The founder members are thirteen, with Davide Rampello being in charge of and affirming: “We feel sure that LARTE can become the first of Altagamma clubs and a representative spot of the next Expo. The art of welcome and the refinement of interiors match well with the cultural and business proposals of excellence. However, the relationships between people going there, the pleasure to meet and make acquaintance around its tables make this a special place”.

During the presentation to the press and trade professionals, Mr. Filippo Del Corno – councilor of culture at the Milan municipality – added: “Milan is a city of art and culture, beauty and hospitality. This place represents the city at its best and its expressions in creativity and entrepreneurial talent”.

LARTE Showcases Design, Fashion, and Art Objects

LARTE, as highlighted by those who conceived, designed, furnished, and communicated it, has everything it takes to become the stage of the production, industrial, cooking, and artistic tradition of our Country. Not a museum, but a contemporary and live place, extraordinary enough to draw who is looking for the new but at the same time connected with the innovation and the quality of business. It is not a case that, beyond offering wines and food from the most prestigious Italian companies (good cooking remains the core of this place), LARTE showcases design, fashion, and art objects. An illustrated catalog suggests the “list of objects” proposing products of the most important made in Italy.

The furniture of the rooms in this “theatre of conviviality and culture” is supplied by Zanotta, whose design pieces interpret the project philosophy, decorating every space corners and functions: the Spillo tables with glass square tops and cement finished rectangular tops, in the shade mustard, the Calla armchairs in the shade light brown, the Adhoc modular storage units with a special “soft” bronzed finish, the same range is chosen for the double-sided glass showcases that make up the entrance hall. Not to forget in the bar lounge, the Kate chairs, and the historic Reale tables by Carlo Mollino (design 1946) with the Eva chairs, in the wide hall.

A modular bar counter can be transformed depending on the setting of special events and temporary exhibitions. As Mr. Andrea Illy – current President of Altagamma – confirms “The guests will find every time the rooms set in different ways like new and amazing stories”.
