Pink as Rosé Wines and Green as Olive Oils – 9th Edition of the Festival

The happiest and most beautiful, superbly designed, and well-organized wine event PINK DAY – is a favorite festival for many. Pink Day experienced its ninth edition this year and was held on May 21st and 22nd, this time in Lauba: a House for People and Art in Zagreb, Croatia.

Pink Day is a festival of rosy still and sparkling wine, but it actually celebrates the beautiful side of life, the arrival of summer, moderate consumption of the finest rosé wines ideal for warm days, excellent extra virgin olive oils, and – increasingly popular pink cocktails.

In addition to socializing with winemakers and olive growers, this year, Pink Day was marked by top workshops, awards for the most creative exhibition stands, as well as a new location, LAUBA: House for People and Art, which Pink Day filled with optimism and joy.

Rosé wines, but also extra virgin olive oils (GREEN IN PINK by Romerquelle, official water of the festival) were enjoyed during the weekend (May 21st and 22nd) by hundreds of visitors, often dressed in pink or decorated with pink, who tasted more than 120 brands of rosé wines from Croatia, France, Italy, Slovenia and Austria, and Serbia was particularly well represented with five wine houses whose wines aroused special public interest.

In addition to two days of socializing at the new location, the novelty was also pink cocktails, the Pink Mixology, which also contributed to the great atmosphere.

Workshops about Rosé Wines and Extra Virgin Olive Oils

This year’s festival friend was the V.A.P.T. (Vinotrade Acrobat portfolio tasting) and a Masterclass workshop “VAPT rosé wines” powered by Premium Visa was held, which was filled to the last seat, and was led by Dino Kušen and Juraj Dusper.

An interesting workshop was dedicated to extra virgin olive oils, of which a dozen were exhibited at the festival – “Indigenous varieties of Croatia”, and was led by one of the greatest experts in the field of olive growing, Edi Družetić.

“Pink Mixology” powered by Double Dutch / Alca Beverages workshop was led by Natali Borić, a champion among young bartenders (this word should definitely be changed to bar-woman!).

On Sunday, the workshop “Rosé from the indigenous variety of svrdlovina” powered by the Croatian Ministry of Agriculture, was led by Nikolina Paleka.

Visitors were able to relax in the WOW corner and get pink glasses as a gift to see the world in a brighter and more optimistic way.

Lauba’s bar with the interesting name “No Name Bar” has prepared, especially for this pink occasion – Pink Menu – so visitors and exhibitors tasted delicious and beautiful snacks.

Awards for Most Imaginative and Creatively Decorated Exhibition Spaces

To the delight of the exhibitors, Pink Day continued with the traditional awarding of the most imaginative and creatively decorated exhibition space. Jury: Sanja Muzaferija, President of WOW; the founder and director of the Pink Day festival, Zrinka Jelić-Belinić, the executive director of the Festival and Vlasta Pirnat, the art director of the Festival, chose the most beautiful exhibition stands.

Special praise was given to Enosophia from Feričani, and from the exhibitors – Green in Pink sponsored by Romerquelle, the official water of the festival – as a sign of attention the flowers was given to the exhibitor of extra virgin olive oil DalFleur, from the variety of oblica from the hinterland of Šibenik.
