Next-generation WPC Decking Combines Lasting Beauty with Superior Durability

Next-generation WPC Decking Combines Lasting Beauty with Superior Durability

Trex, the world’s largest manufacturer of high-performance, wood-alternative decking and railing presents a variety of decking options for the German and Swiss markets that offer unparalleled durability and aesthetics –  and present a superior alternative to traditional hardwood and older-generation WPC materials.

High-Performance Meets Low-Maintenance
Engineered with an exclusive low-sheen, high-traffic formulation, Trex decking combines a finish that resists stains, scratches and mold with a distinctive and natural-looking, wood-grain pattern in deep, saturated colours.
In addition, Trex decking is extremely low maintenance. It won’t rot, warp, crack or splinter – and upkeep is hassle-free. The product requires no sanding, staining or painting, and food spills wash off easily with just soap and water.
The key to Trex decking’s extreme durability is its integrated shell, which is protected on three sides for superior defense against severe weather and heavy foot traffic, while the underside of each board breathes to avoid surface separation and ensure lifelong endurance. In addition, Trex decking is backed by a 25-year Limited Residential Fade and Stain Warranty.

New Colors and Greater Design Flexibility
At BAU 2013, Trex introduced  two new decking colours – Tiki Torch (a light gold-auburn with subtle streaking) and Beach Dune (a warm honey brown).
Trex decking is also available in eight other rich, luxurious colours: Gravel Path (pristine grey), Vintage Lantern (deep-burnished bronze), Fire Pit (spicy red), Tree House (light brown), Rope Swing (light taupe), Spiced Rum (an umber hue with diverse streaking), Lava Rock (a reddish black) and Clam Shell (a deep charcoal).
In addition, each deck board is available in a square or grooved profile. The grooved boards accommodate Trex Hideaway® Hidden Fasteners, a proprietary mounting system that creates a smooth, unfettered surface with no visible mounting elements. Neither nails nor screws and screw holes interrupt the beautiful grain and the pleasant feel of the boards. The mounting system also allows removal of a board individually.
For a completely customized look, Trex decking may be matched with modular Trex railing, which offers incredible design flexibility while increasing the overall value of a home. With the same beauty and low maintenance as Trex decking, the railing options provide mix-and-match capabilities to suit the style of any home and homeowner.

Environmental Commitment
As a company built on green principles and practices, Trex decking is manufactured of 95 percent recycled materials, including reclaimed wood and sawdust – as well as recycled plastic from many common household items like sandwich bags, newspaper sleeves and grocery bags. In fact, Trex saves approximately 300,000 tonnes of plastic and wood scrap from landfill sites every year, and no trees have ever been felled to manufacture Trex products. The company regularly seeks third-party audits to ensure that it is continually improving green practices while meeting all environmental, health and safety guidelines and industry regulations.
