TEAM 7’s evergreen mobile range of children’s furniture receives a facelift

TEAM 7’s range of truly classic children’s furniture – mobile –is made of genuine natural wood and free of chemical additives. This furniture, which is the very embodiment of timeless reliability, grows with your children. The range has already been around for thirty years, meaning a whole generation has grown up with mobile. Now it is the turn of a new generation of parents to choose classic items of furniture for their children. Made of solid alder, treated exclusively with natural oil, glued together without formaldehyde and crafted using complex traditional techniques, the mobile range boasts robust furniture with rounded edges that is both trusted by parents and enjoyed by children. This is a range that can withstand even the most excitable group of children. Parents do not even need to worry if their infant decides to chew on their cot, as the furniture is non-toxic – exactly as nature intended.

The demands made of furniture for children and teenagers are high, with safety, durability and robustness being counted as the most important factors. Children, on the other hand, just want one thing and that is lots of space to play. The tried and tested mobile range of children’s furniture from the traditional Austrian design company TEAM 7 fires the imagination and invites children to play, hide away and dream in their colourful bear caves, owl nests and rabbit burrows. This high-quality range has been expanded and is now available in new colour schemes.

When it comes to healthy living, everything that is good for adults is essential for little ones. Natural materials and practical design concepts provide healthy and inspiring surroundings which are perfect for a child’s development. All products from the mobile range are made to order and manufactured from red-golden alder, which is characterised by its warm appearance and beautifully smooth feel. Furthermore, small dents and scratches can be easily fixed using an abrasive pad and maintenance oil. This is a valuable ecological lesson for children, making them aware of the robust nature of wood from a very early age. It helps our young amateur carpenters develop an understanding of sustainability and a sense of being close to nature as they play.

Whilst children just want to play to their heart’s content, it is the safety of this furniture that is most valued by their parents – it can be relied upon even when their little ones crash around as they play. TEAM 7 is building on over 30 years’ experience in the industry. Using this expertise, it has developed a range of GS-certified products with rounded corners and edges, and surfaces that are treated exclusively with solvent-free natural oil. Formaldehyde is deliberately not used, so as to avoid allergic reactions. As the furniture does not release any harmful substances into the air in the room, it is also recommended by the Institut für Baubiologie in Rosenheim, the most prestigious testing centre when it comes to healthy living. New to the current mobile range are beautifully rounded drawer handles that have been designed specially to fit children’s hands and prevent injuries.

If you invest in high-quality furniture, you know that it will last. “TEAM 7 furniture is not disposable – each item is a companion for life,” says Managing Director Georg Emprechtinger. The mobile range does, quite literally, grow with every growth spurt. True to the premise that furniture should adapt to children’s needs and not the other way round, mobile’s modular structure offers numerous flexible design options. By removing a few of the rungs from the solid wood cot, you can create an ‘entrance’ and then later turn it into a comfortable and cosy sofa. The changing table becomes a practical shelf unit, and bunk beds and mid-high beds can be transformed into single beds that will even look good in a teenager’s first student digs. All of the bed options can also be stacked on top of one another to create bunk beds for those occasions when a happy only child becomes an even happier older sibling. The ergonomic desk, available in alder or beech, has been redesigned, with adjustable height settings and various modules to extend it when the time comes to move on from learning the alphabet to working out mathematical equations.

However the bedrooms of children and teenagers are not just there for doing homework, as any one of their residents will tell you. The mobile range provides little ones with lots of imaginative inspiration as they play. With the new designs, children’s rooms become colourful woodland worlds, which provide little bears, owls and rabbits with lots of space for discovery, adventure and rest. The focus on native woodland creatures fits perfectly with the philosophy of TEAM 7 as a family company that places a lot of value on producing furniture in harmony with nature. However, as soon as the drawings of forest animals on the walls are replaced with posters of pop stars, the fabrics can be removed quickly and easily.

The TEAM 7 designers have always taken their inspiration and motivation from nature. The company produces its award-winning models exclusively from European hardwood and its entire design, production and sales process is based on ecological and social sustainability. TEAM 7’s mobile range is the ‘evergreen’ of children’s bedroom furniture and its chemical-free natural wood products have been a source of trust, safety and fun in children’s rooms for more than thirty years.
