Backstage – The innovative element that changes the use and perception

This wardrobe system aims to entirely rethink the concepts of storage, distribution of internal space and the bedroom/closet relationship. Without hesitation, we can say that the solutions achieved surpass existing technologies, and bring us to look from a new angle at a subject rich in sophisticated details that has already been widely explored.

The innovative element that changes the use and perception of the traditional wardrobe system is the large sized “re-entering” door. Changed into the language of contemporary architecture, which sees the door as a full height surface that disappears into the wall where it is mounted and that, when opened, is able to create a wide passageway providing continuous access between two different areas. The door of Backstage wardrobe allows the customer to “enter” into the wardrobe and make it completely accessible, up to point of absorbing it into a walk-in wardrobe.

Conceived in three widths (cm 72,5, cm 85, cm 97,5), the door opens with a movement that causes it to partially re-enter the wardrobe, and offers the elegance of large sized furniture, and also the possibility of being placed in spaces that are not excessively deep. The new arrangement of the wardrobe faces has changed so that where it used to be necessary to open more doors to see the contents of a wardrobe with a width of 145/170/195 cm, now opening only two doors provides the user with full access to the entire internal wardrobe space.

The internal space is divided in new ways, due to the re-entering mechanism. It makes it possible to use the space effectively and rethink the entire area with shelves, clothes racks, chest of drawers (with the top surface used to hold accessory trays) and a shirt compartment grid. Additional accessories can be positioned on the door: accessory trays, adjustable mirror, belt holder and jewelry holder.

Energy-saving LED luminaires that turn on when the doors open are positioned on the shelves, the base and on the top cover: a scenographic presence with the purpose of increasing visibility in all areas. Wood finishes, leather and metal, and specific details define Backstage as a refined product, reserved for an exclusive clientele who appreciates high quality. The doors are available in sucupira wood or lacquered in 16 colours with shellac finish or satin finish.

The interior has shelves and trays in leather, chests of drawers with painted bronzed nickel finish, surfaces of the frame in melamine coated leather (in a dove or colonial color) or melamine coated sucupira wood. The handles are important details, mounted on the front in matching positions. Two variations are available: one overhanging and the other re-entering. Both have leather inserts (dark brown or colonial) or bronzed nickel.

There are two depths of the system: 66 cm and 85 cm. If a customised solution is desired, the system is flexible enough to offer tailor-made solutions. All characteristics and equipment of Backstage wardrobes can be transferred into the creations of walk-in closets, which can also be fitted with a completely closed unit to store out-of-season clothing.
