Kartell by Laufen wins the EDIDA 2014 in the Bathroom category

Voted on by 25 editors-in-chief of Elle Decoration publications from all over the world, the EDIDAs recognize excellence in the interior design sector in 13 different categories. Kartell by Laufen has been selected as the winner in the bathroom category. The award ceremony will be held on 10 April on the occasion of the Milan Furniture Fair.

Kartell by Laufen made its debut in March 2013 on the occasion of the ISH/Frankfurt, the leading trade fair at the international level in the bathroom sector.

During 2013 it quickly earned plaudits from the international design public during an intensive schedule of events all over the world, including (to cite just the most important cities): Milan during the Milan Furniture Fair, London at Designjunction, New York on the occasion of the DBNY, Miami during Art Basel/Miami Design Week and Paris, where a shop-in-shop has just been inaugurated at the David B showroom.

In just a few months Kartell by Laufen has achieved an undisputed high profile and an excellent reputation with all the opinions leaders of the world, journalists, architects, and buyers.

After winning the Wallpaper  Design Awards in the Best Wash category, in February 2014 there was also a notification that it had won the much sought-after EDIDA award (ELLE Deco International  Design Awards) 2014 for the bathroom category.

Claudio Luti, Kartell President, says: “I am proud of this recognition, not only for Kartell but for the whole team involved in the project, so also for our partners Laufen and for designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba. The project that we presented last year at the ISH Frankfurt was the result of long work, 4 years of research, meetings, and projects. From the very start, this first collection has been presented as a valid, complete, and transversal offer for the bathroom environment. The work is just at the start because we are still in the development phase, both of the collection and of the commercial network. I believe that this first year of work and the results achieved,  in addition  to the winning  of this important award, form a promising base for a project that we intend to have a long life and further developments.”

Alberto Magrans, senior managing director at Laufen, says: “I am enthusiastic and very satisfied that Kartell by Laufen has received this important recognition, which confirms the excellence and quality of this innovative project. Edida is an authoritative platform that has grasped its diversity. As with all targets achieved, the fundamental ingredient has been shared hard work, a cohesive team, and a common vision. For Laufen, this award gives us renewed strength and a further reason to believe that Kartell by Laufen was truly born under a good star”.

Ludovica and Roberto Palomba add: “We are very happy to have received  this award because it is a recognition that has always confirmed the international aptitude and quality of a project.”

Kartell by Laufen is a complete integrated project for the bathroom, inspired by the iconic designs of Kartell combined with the quality of Laufen. The catalog includes various bathroom furnishing solutions, accessories, sanitaryware, taps, and fittings. At the next Furniture Fair for 2014, Kartell by Laufen will be presented at Rho-Pero with a stand at the Bathroom Fair. On this occasion, new configurations and moods will be presented for the collection, in the setting of a layout designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba.
