Cristina Jorge de Carvalho, founder and creative director of the studio Cristina Jorge de Carvalho – Interior Design, introduces her new Atelier and Showroom. The space will function as a by appointment only sales showroom in Lisbon, as well as a studio.
Located in a building from the late nineteenth century, in Avenida da Liberdade, the new 300 sqm space allows its visitors to get acquainted with the contemporary, timeless and unique design that define all the projects with Cristina Jorge de Carvalho’s signature, as well as to buy exclusive pieces from the designer and designer brands represented by the Showroom.
In addition to the Designer’s furniture line, Cristina Jorge de Carvalho – Furniture Collection, one can find pieces from international furniture brands such as Knoll, Vitra, Arflex, Carl Hansen or Artifort, lightening design pieces from Flos, DCW and Oluce, and Ex voto candles, that the Showroom sells exclusively for the Portuguese market.
A selection of pieces and decorative objects carefully chosen from antique stores from all over the world can also be found and purchased directly at the Showroom.
In this new space, Cristina Jorge de Carvalho also features an innovative partnership with the gallery Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art, offering visitors the possibility to buy a selection of works of art from some of the most prestigious artists represented by this gallery; João Onofre, Sabine Hornig, Luis Paulo Costa, Erwin Wurn, José Loureiro, Rui Toscano, João Louro, and Filipa César.
About Cristina Jorge de Carvalho
Cristina was born in Mozambique, Africa. She graduated in Business Management from ISCTE in Lisbon. Later, she directed her professional interest to the area of architecture and interior design.
She took a specialization course in Interior Design at Inchbald School of Design, in London. Back in Lisbon, in 2000, Cristina founded the Atelier Cristina Jorge de Carvalho – Interior Design.
She is a professional member of IIDA – International Interior Design Association.
The atelier has been awarded by the European Hotel Awards with the Best Hotel Interior for Europe and Best Hotel Interior for Portugal for the Hotel Altis Prime project, and has received in 2011, from the International Design Awards (IDA), the Silver award for the project developed for the Champalimaud Foundation.
